A Research Centre for Policy Excellence

INTRODUCTION

SAIPAL was established on 8 March 2009 to advocate appropriate policies supported by facts for the improvement of governance and service delivery at each levels.

Relevant and appropriate policy contributes for rapid development of the nation. To adopt a proper policy, there is need for quality information along with technical capability. A group of young and dynamic educationists and researchers felt the need for a research institute that can cater the holistic development of the countries through policy analysis and leadership development approach. With profuse chain of researchers and academician SAIPAL was established in March 2009 to contribute for the improvement of public policies. It will promote appropriate and relevant policy in socio-economic and political fields with research facts especially in South Asian Region.

VISION

Evidence based policy perspective will be adopted by local, regional, national and international level policy leaders, which will lead to have a good public policies at all levels.

MISSION

Provide technical advice and support in policy decisions by analyzing current policies, gaps, needs and opportunities;

Encourage research in the area of public policy;

Search effective and efficient policy solutions for the overall development of the nation;

Develop and advocate appropriate and relevant public policies at international, national, regional, and local levels.

OBJECTIVES

In accordance to the vision and mission of SAIPAL, the overall objective of the institute is to support government at all levels for the adoption of evidence based policies by providing necessary analytical information and developing their capability in public policy sphere.

1. Provide technical support in the areas of public policy decisions;

2. Conduct high-quality research and produce publications in the public policy sphere;

3. Enhance the capability for public policy analysis by providing training; organizing workshop, seminar, conferences, and public events in order to improve the public policies;

4. Enhance the leadership capacity by promoting the adoption of the evidence based policy dimension; providing relevant information and skill to the policy leaders;

5. Promote dialogue and cooperation among scholars, government officials, journalists, business leaders, NGO activists, and the general public.
